Sophie Ackoff

Program Manager, Food & Agriculture

Sophie Ackoff is a program manager for the Food & Agriculture program at The 11th Hour Project. Before joining 11th Hour, Sophie led a national campaign for a transformative farm bill at the Union of Concerned Scientists and served as co-executive director of the National Young Farmers Coalition. During her tenure at Young Farmers, the coalition won historic funding for beginning farmer training, equitable land access, and more. Sophie was named an Emerging Leader in Food and Agriculture in 2020 and one of 25 Leaders in Food and Agriculture to Watch by Food Tank in 2019.

She holds a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies from Wesleyan University and started her career growing organic vegetables in the Hudson Valley of New York.
