Last Chance Alliance: Fighting to Phase Out Fossil Fuels
Meet Anaii, Isabel and Nalleli, among the ~5.4 million Californians living within a mile of one or more of the 84,000 oil and gas wells in the state. Frontline leaders from across the state are urging California to show true climate leadership by phasing out fossil fuels (some of the dirtiest crude in the world and often extracted in densely populated neighborhoods) and by setting a safety buffer zone sufficient to protect homes, schools and other sensitive sites.
The state cannot afford to miss this opportunity to act in the best interest of its communities and to model climate leadership for the rest of the world.
